Electric Fireplace

One type of fireplace available is an electric fireplace. This type of fireplace can heat a room but does not feel hot when you touch it. Because of this, this fireplace will work well if you have children in your home. The fireplaces use faux wood or coal that looks like the real thing. You do not have to worry about fumes getting into your home or cleaning up soot and dust from a traditional fireplace. You do not have to install a chimney because you can simply plug the fireplace in. This type of fireplace is also much easier to keep clean. You can choose from a variety of sizes and shapes and can even hang the fireplace on a wall or set it flush with a wall.

Wood Fireplace

The wood fireplace is the traditional fireplace you will see in many homes. It does use real wood and fire but provides more heat than other types. Also, smelling the smell of wood burning and hearing the crackling sound can be relaxing. Once installed, the only thing you have to pay for to run the fireplace is the logs. You can also purchase chopped wood and store it, so you have enough to last you all winter. If your power goes out, you can use your fireplace for heat as it needs no electricity. If your power stays out for a long time you could even use the fireplace for cooking or to provide some light in the room.

Gas Log Fireplace

Gas log fireplaces make it look like real wood is burning in the fireplace, but instead, it uses gas logs. The logs are usually made of ceramic but can be found to mimic wood.  You do not have to worry about storing or purchasing wood, as well as not worrying about cleaning up soot or dust. This also makes gas log fireplaces much easier to clean and keep clean. It will still provide heat for the room and as long as you have gas, the fireplace will work even if the power goes out.
